A widespread freeze is expected tonight.

Freeze warnings now cover just about the entire state of Kansas, with Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties now in a freeze warning from 11 pm Friday to 9 am Saturday and Chase and Greenwood counties in a separate warning from 10 pm Friday to 8 am Saturday.

TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers says the freeze expected Friday night is more widespread than the one across parts of the state Friday morning because the conditions are a bit different.

While air temperatures have been in the mid- and upper 30s early Friday morning, wind chills have been in the mid- and upper 20s.

Temperatures could dip back to around 30 degrees overnight. Frosty conditions will not be an issue for the weekend, with overnight lows in the 40s. We'll also have high temperatures in the 60s both weekend days.

We'll keep you posted on KVOE, and KVOE social media.
