The 10 block of West Seventh will be busy Saturday as the Downtown Emporia Bars Association holds its second annual Oktoberfest.

The origins of the bar association and Emporia's rendition of Oktoberfest go hand in hand, according to Radius Brewing co-owner Chad Swift on KVOE's Talk of Emporia this week.

One big change from last year is there will be no admission charge. Rick Becker detailed the change in philosophy:

Oktoberfest goes from noon to 9 pm. Several food trucks will be available, along with a cornhole tournament, stein-holding contests, the now-annual OctoBeard contest through Beard Team Kansas and music from Weda Skirts, Tarnished Brass and Brickhorse.
