Much of the KVOE listening area is in a dense fog advisory through the mid-morning hours Sunday.

The National Weather Service has announced an advisory for Lyon, Coffey and Osage counties until 10 am. Greenwood County is in a separate advisory that also ends at 10 am.

Visibility will be likely under a mile in the advised counties and could go below a quarter-mile regularly, especially south and east of Emporia.

The fog comes in the middle of rainfall early Saturday and more rain chances by Sunday evening. We had 0.15 inches of rain at the KVOE studios, while the Emporia Municipal Airport had 0.10 inches.

Storms should develop by late afternoon Sunday and might continue through the evening hours. Some strong storms are possible, with small hail and gusty winds the main concerns.

We’ll keep you updated on KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media.
