Lyon County Commissioners approved the purchase of several items for the Lyon County Road and Bridge Department during their weekly action session Thursday morning.

Lyon County Engineer Chip Woods made multiple requests of commissioners including the purchase of a barrel head tree mulcher from Murphy Tractor and Equipment Company for a total of $45,200. Commissioners approved two additional quotes, one from NAPA for a 72" in tool chest storage system for speciality tools and electronic equipment for just over $3,300.

The second quote from Foley Equipment totalled $20,832 for a Sterling Dump Truck. Additionally, commissioners gave approval to send Seth Snyder and Krystle Fessler to the 2020 Certified Public Manager (CPM) Program and to pay the registration fees and related travel expenses totalling $7,000 to be paid from the Road and Bridge Fund.

Four executive sessions -- two for legal matters and two for non-elected personnel also took place. Commissioners will reconvene for their weekly action session next Thursday at 8 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse.
