It takes a village to feed a village and Emporia's Church of Christ certainly had a village of workers on hand for their annual community Thanksgiving meal.

From cooks to servers and a plethora of delivery drivers the entire congregation came together to feed hundreds of hungry residents on Thanksgiving. Mike Alpers has been running deliveries for the past 17 years and says its a busy day from start to finish.

Marjory Scrivner was one of the many cooks on hand and says while it is a busy day, it is a day the church looks forward to year after year.

The menu included all of the Thanksgiving favorites and hundreds of pies and other delicious desserts. Over 200 people came to the church to eat and drivers made 480 deliveries throughout the day.
