KDOT approves area road, bridge construction projects Featured

Numerous road construction projects have been approved for area counties by the Kansas Department of Transportation.


Chase County will see an overlay project on Kansas Highway 150 from the Marion County line east almost nine miles to the US Highway 50 junction. Cornejo and Sons of Wichita won the project with a $1.6 million bid.

Greenwood County will have a milling and overlay project from the junction of US Highway 400 and Kansas Highway 99 south to the Greenwood-Elk county line. Cornejo and Sons won this project with a $226,000 bid.

Morris County has a bridge replacement coming just north of the Council Grove Reservoir after KDOT action this month. The project will affect Kansas Highway 177 over Munkers Creek. Bridges Inc. of Newton bid almost $4.8 million to win the project.

KDOT has not said when these projects will begin.
