Chase County celebrated its annual Country Christmas on Friday and Saturday with a range of activities.

After music and children's activities helped to start the event Friday night, Saturday's schedule was jam-packed with a silent auction, arts and crafts fair, ugly sweater bingo and a "Good Old-Fashioned Christmas" -- where people could visit the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve to see historic characters and take part in wagon rides or Christmas carols. There was also a long line of kids wanting at the Chase County Courthouse to talk with Cowboy Santa. And the kids were ready.

The evening was reserved for the lighting of the Chase County Courthouse and Historic River Bridge, as well as a parade -- getting Santa ready to head back to the North Pole -- and the Christmas Ball Country Contra Dance.
