The Emporia Community Foundation is getting ready for its sixth annual Match Day check presentation Tuesday.

Executive Director Becky Nurnberg teased the prospect of big totals during KVOE's Newsmaker 2 segment Monday.

The check presentation follows the actual Match Day at Flinthills Mall and online on Veterans Day. Residents could donate to one or several of the 25 participating community groups to bolster their missions and different projects. Nurnberg says she was pleasantly surprised by the on-site turnout because of the wintry weather. She says the bigger donation sizes this year could be because people are now familiar with the event and the participating groups. She also said the community groups did well to publicize their projects on social media.

The ceremony will be at Flinthills Mall. As has been the case the past few years, KVOE will carry the check presentation ceremony live. Find it on 14 KVOE, 96.9 FM and KVOE.com starting just after 11 am.
