The residents of Delnae Drive welcome the entire community out to visit their neighborhood Saturday for the 36th annual Delane Drive Toy Drop.

The special drive sees the entire Delane Drive community come together to collect hundreds of donations of toys and money which then are given to help enhance the Christmas of those less fortunate than others. Delane Drive resident and toy drop organizer Thomas Silkman says last year the event garnered over $500 in monetary donations and collected 44 large bags of toys.

Silkman says the event is one that is fully embraced by the entire neighborhood year after year.

Along with the hard-working neighbors, two very special guests will be in stopping through yet again to aid in efforts for the drive. Santa and Mrs. Claus will venture down from the North Pole to hand out candy canes to those in attendance and help spread some holiday cheer.

All toy donations will be given to the Salvation Army while monetary donations will be given to SOS unless specified for another purpose.

The Delane Drive Toy Drop will run from 6 pm to 9 pm at 2307 Delane Drive Saturday evening.
