Nearly all Lyon County roads reopened after flooding

Most Lyon County roads damaged by two rounds of flooding the past three weeks have been sufficiently repaired for vehicle traffic.

As of noon Monday, just three roads remained closed:

*E from 150 to 160

*G from 150 to 160

*G-5 from 150 to 160

The Lyon County Highway Department stresses all other roads may be open, but some roads are still being worked on.

Numerous roads in the Cottonwood and Neosho river floodplains went underwater starting March 24. Flooding was nearly constant until this past weekend after anywhere from six to nine inches of rain fell across the area.
