Inclement weather has led to several schedule adjustments already and it appears it will lead to a continued disruption in traffic on K99 through the remainder of the weekend following a semi crash Thursday.

Crews have been working since Thursday morning to clear debris from the crash site after a semi hauling a windmill base failed to execute a left turn and went into the ditch at the junction of Road 240 and L just before 10:30 am.  The cab of the semi rolled onto its top and the driver, 45-year-old Jeffrey Lombardo of Palm City, FL, managed to escape with just minor cuts and scratches.

The semi-trailer was cleared from the scene by Friday morning, however, the base remained in the intersection as crews awaited a new truck to haul the equipment away.  Original expectations were for the base to be removed by Saturday, however, Lyon County Sgt. Danny Broyles tells KVOE News it may now be Sunday before traffic is fully restored.   Broyles says the light to moderate snowfall is making it difficult for large equipment to get in the area to haul away the base.
