Visitation restrictions are now in place at Newman Regional Health due to a rise in respiratory illnesses within the Emporia community.

Temporary visitation restrictions have been implemented for the hospital's labor and delivery unit on the fourth floor. The hospital is requesting children under 12-years-old not be brought to the hospital at this time.

Siblings will be given permission to visit after they have been screened by a nurse for symptoms of a cold or fever. Additionally, the hospital is asking that residents only visit the hospital if they are healthy and not experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, diarrhea or have interacted with anyone experiencing those symptoms in the past seven days.

Newman wishes to remind all residents they do have the option of sending a greeting to patients using Newman's website by visiting newmanrh.org/patientgreetings.
