Lyon County Clerk files for fourth term Featured

The flurry of filings continues for Lyon County offices.

So far, the filings at the department head level have all involved incumbents -- including Friday's announcement from County Clerk Tammy Vopat.

Vopat is seeking her fourth term in office after she was first elected in 2008. She currently oversees the County Clerk's Office and the Election Office.

Vopat joins County Treasurer Sharon Gaede has having filed. County Attorney Marc Goodman has announced his re-election bid but has not formally filed. Sheriff Jeff Cope and Register of Deeds Wendy Weiss have not announced or filed at this time.

For Lyon County Commission, Third District Republican Rollie Martin has filed and is currently unopposed. Dan Slater is not running for re-election to the Second District. Three Republicans -- Robert McClelland, Phil Mott and Doug Peck -- have filed to replace Slater.
