A man accused in Lyon County of 30 violent and sex offenses is bracing for trial in September, based on the current schedule.


Gregory Thomas Goad, age 30, has been charged after alleged illegal activity with a then-21-year-old in December and January. Following a short pretrial hearing Friday, an all-day motions hearing is set for July 29, with a final pretrial hearing Sept. 23 and trial tentatively set to begin Sept. 28.

Goad faces two counts of rape, two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, four counts of kidnapping, six counts of aggravated domestic battery, six counts of domestic battery, four counts of criminal threat and single counts of criminal restraint, aggravated assault and aggravated battery. One criminal threat charge has been dismissed.

The affidavit, or law enforcement narrative, is sealed so further details are not currently being released.
