Following its grand premiere last year, organizers of the No Coast Film Festival are continuing preparations for the events upcoming sequel.

After bringing in over 500 people to the Granada Theatre for last year's festival in the late summer, this year's event has been moved to October and was originally set to take place between on Oct. 2 and 3. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic organizers have decided to keep this year's festival as a one-day event according to spokesman Jon Leach.

Leach says current plans are to still hold the festival in person come October, however, he says if the coronavirus pandemic forces those plans to be altered, film lovers around the world will still be able to enjoy the festival.

The festival will be split up into blocks with different genres taking place at certain times of the day. Leach says the popular kid's block will be returning along with a block for documentaries.

Leach says 30 films have been submitted so far for this year's festival and as organizers continue to screen and vet each submission, more blocks will be announced in the coming weeks.

No Coast is a "short film" event that brings together both first-time and established filmmakers from all around the world to showcase and celebrate the diverse short film genre. The event is completely free to attend and open to the general public.
