Lyon County Emergency Management and the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce have teamed up with the Kansas Department of Emergency Management to provide personal protective equipment to local businesses as part of the Road to Recovery initiative.

Chamber President and CEO Jeanine McKenna issued a news release Tuesday afternoon announcing the organizations have procured "Non-Medical 3 ply masks" from the KDEM stockpile for immediate distribution. The masks will be available to businesses and organizations in Lyon County who can use them for both staff and patrons as they see fit.

The masks will be available in boxes of 50 at the Trussler Business Center from 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. In order to ensure all businesses in need are able to have masks, initial requests will be limited to 100 masks per group.

It is requested that one individual from a business or organization stop by the center to pick up the masks. Basic information will be requested for tracking purposes and to support future requests of additional PPE for when supplies diminish.

McKenna wishes to emphasize that mask pickups are only available to businesses and organizations and not to individual citizens.  For more information or questions contact the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce by calling 342-1600.
