One man accused of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and drug possession appeared in Lyon County District Court Wednesday for a pre-trial hearing.

48-year-old Miguel Renterio faces single counts of assault and meth possession after an incident at 18 South West Street nearly two months ago. According to court documents provided to KVOE News, Officers went to the address to serve a warrant when an armed Renterio became uncooperative and made a motion as if he was reaching for his weapon.

Officers managed to relieve Renterio of his weapon without further incident and in a subsequent investigation said they found numerous spent .22-caliber and 9-millimeter shell casings inside the house. Officers also reported finding bullet holes in the floor, walls and ceiling -- several of which appeared to be exit holes leaving Renterio's house towards a nearby house, restaurant and the skateboard area of Santa Fe Park. Prosecutors estimate several hundred bullet holes in the house.

Officers also reported finding several rifles, guns, ammunition, knives and a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine inside the home. No jury trial dates have been set in the case at this time.

Renterio's next appearance inside Lyon County District Court is scheduled for Aug. 28 at 3 pm.
