One woman was hurt and one man was arrested after a crash southeast of Emporia early Thursday.

Lyon County Deputy Nathan Rankin says the wreck in the 1100 block of Road T was reported around 1:15 am. Early indications are a pickup had left the road, flipped and landed on its roof. The woman was inside the truck and the man, who was driving, was found standing nearby.

Nicole Smith, 33, of Madison, was extricated and taken to Newman Regional Health for suspected minor injuries. Levi Lutz, 35, also of Madison, also suffered minor injuries. Rankin does not say whether Lutz went to a hospital, but he says Lutz was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Lutz was southbound on T when he left the road for unlisted reasons. Neither Lutz nor Smith were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
