Dry, breezy conditions are elevating the fire danger areawide, and one area county is putting a halt on outdoor burns in the short term.


Osage County has announced a burn ban until 8 am Wednesday following a report the Rangeland Fire Danger index will be in the very high category.

Temperatures approaching 70 degrees and southwest winds as high as 25 mph will combine with relative humidity levels of 20-30 percent to increase the fire danger Tuesday.
