
Blustery conditions will kick up before noon, leading the National Weather Service to issue a wind advisory from 11 am to 8 pm for Lyon County and all surrounding counties. South winds will be steadily from 25-30 mph by afternoon with gusts at or above 40 mph.
The fire danger will be high, but increasing humidity levels have taken the risk of a red flag warning off the table for now. Outdoor burns will still be discouraged areawide and banned in the Emporia city limits Tuesday.
By late evening, showers and storms should be moving into the area. There is a slight risk for severe storms, mainly for hail and wind.
