COVID-19 response matters will be the featured talking points for Lyon County commissioners in their action session Thursday.

Commissioners will consider whether to extend the local disaster declaration for 28 days into May. Disaster declarations help local units of government gain access to major resources from the state and/or federal government.

In addition, Lyon County Health Officer Dr. Ladun Oyenuga will have her weekly update, including her first report since Lyon County adjusted the public health order to turn mass gathering and social distancing parameters into strong recommendations instead of mandates.

Separately, commissioners will look at a resolution endorsing the Convention of States, an ongoing effort to enact term limits on federal officials and pass a balanced budget amendment to the US Constitution.

The meeting starts at 9 am at the County Courthouse. It will be live-streamed on the county's Facebook page.
