2016 Greenwood County manhunt suspects in court this week for sentencing hearings

Separate sentencing hearings are coming this week for two people who allegedly triggered a chase and nearly week-long search south of Emporia last fall.

Sentencing is coming for 32-year-old Billy Dale Baker at 10:30 am Wednesday and for 32-year-old Kristen Michelle Bellis at 11 am Thursday. Baker and Bellis allegedly led a chase from the Casey's convenience store in Madison to near Hamilton on Nov. 14. The two were captured near Coyville after a two-hour standoff nearly a week later.

Baker was originally charged with felony flee and elude, interference with a law enforcement officer, burglary and three counts of theft. He pleaded to felony flee and elude and all other counts were dropped in February.

Bellis, meanwhile, originally faced single counts of methamphetamine possession and paraphernalia possession. She will be sentenced on the meth possession charge Thursday.
