The Emporia High band and the Red Cross will team up to host a blood drive on Monday as a fundraiser.
With an end-of-the-year goal of $10,000, the EHS band is raising funds to obtain a sound system for the marching band.
EHS Band Assistant Director, Glen Woolard talks about how it was made possible to turn a blood drive into a fundraiser.
Woolard says band members are ecstatic for the blood drive and each member is required to enlist at least two people to give blood.
The blood drive will be held in the Flint Hills Mall by the movie theatre and will take place on Jan. 14th from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. To make your appointment to donate, call (800) RED-CROSS or visit www.redcrossblood.org and use the sponsor code: EHSBand.
