The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has named an interim Medicaid Director.
KDHE announced Wednesday that Christiane Swartz will be filling the interim director role after former Medicaid Director Adam Proffit resigned on Jun. 5 to take an undisclosed position within the private sector. According to a news release from KDHE Swartz has served in a “variety of management positions in the Medicaid arena” for over the past 20 years.
Swartz most recently served as the Director of Operations and Chief Operations Officer. KDHE Secretary Dr. Lee Norman says via the aforementioned news release that Swartz “has a vast knowledge and understanding of the Medicaid program and is the perfect person to lead the program.”
KDHE says it plans to launch a search for a new permanent director, however, details on when the search will begin have not yet been announced.
