The east side of Wichita continues to be jostled by earthquakes, and one of the five to hit the city Saturday was apparently felt in Emporia.
The US Geological Survey says weak shaking locally was reported after the strongest of the five quakes in Wichita, a magnitude 3.7 quake shortly before 1 pm. Light to moderate shaking was reported in Wichita. Damage reports are pending and no injuries have been reported.
Nine earthquakes have hit the east half of Wichita since Dec. 10, according to the Kansas Geological Survey. The one felt in Emporia was the strongest of the nine.
