Annual BBQ a chance to thank KVOE listeners

The threat of inclement weather did not deter barbecue plans for KVOE and Bluestem Farm and Ranch Supply Thursday.

In order to celebrate National Barbecue Month and show some customer appreciation, KVOE staffers served 350 burgers cooked by Bruff’s Sports Bar and Grill cooks to a hungry crowd at Bluestem Farm and Ranch Supply – for free. Pepsi provided drinks for the lunch as well.

KVOE General Manager Ron Thomas talks about the station’s involvement in the barbecue and National Barbecue Day.

Bluestem spokesperson Bruce Burenheide describes the two grills that were given away at the event.

Dave Johnson and Todd Detwiler of Emporia were the winners of the two grills.

The barbecue is an annual event KVOE does in order to show appreciation to listeners and customers.
