State and local emergency management operations continue to monitor statewide weather

The Kansas Division of Emergency Management is continuing to monitor statewide weather activity.
KDEM monitored the several severe storms that moved across the state Thursday night. The State Emergency Operations Center was activated to a partial level at noon on Thursday and is still active until further notice.
Lyon County Emergency Manager Jarrod Fell explains what this means.

Last night was the first activation of the Frevert Emergency Management Operations Center since its naming, named after longtime public servant and previous Emergency Management coordinator Rick Frevert.

Currently, the local EOC is not actively staffed but they are monitoring the weather in case activation is needed.
As a flood watch continues for the entire KVOE listening area, the emergency management services will continue to monitor the weather activity. Fell advises everyone to have an emergency plan in case of severe weather.
