The City of Emporia has announced that concrete pavement work will begin Monday on Weaver Street between East 6th Ave and the BNSF railroad tracks.
Traffic in that area will have short sections of roadway reduced to one lane during construction. Work is scheduled to take three to four weeks, depending on the weather.
The city anticipates work to be done by mid-July and motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes during construction.
