Grandfather of new Miss Kansas says she'll represent the state well

A Wichita State University student has been crowned Miss Kansas 2017.
Krystian Fish of Wichita competed at the pageant Saturday as Miss Heart of the Midwest and will now represent Kansas in the Miss America pageant later this year. Her proud grandfather Dennis Fish lives in Emporia. He says he's already planning a trip to Atlantic City to watch her compete this fall.
He says this was the third year Krystian has competed to earn the crown and says she will represent Kansas well.
The 2018 Miss America pageant will be televised nationally on ABC at 8 p.m. on September 10.
