The National Teachers Hall of Fame has received a generous donation from the Altrusa Club of Emporia.
Altrusa Service Committee member Nancy Meinholdt presented a $300 check to NTHF Executive Director Carol Strickland, with thanks from the Altrusa members for promoting positive education across the nation. Meinholdt says the Altrusa Club members work hard each year to raise money for the betterment of the Emporia community, especially in the areas of libraries and education.
The group is supportive of the Memorial to Fallen Educators and has hosted Club programs about the efforts of the Hall of Fame. Strickland says the money will help to support efforts to increase the visibility of the Hall of Fame as well as to continue the outreach programs to recruit teachers and to retain them in the nation's schools.
