Flint Hills Community Health Center is opening a new branch in Madison later this year.
A collaboration between Madison School District and Flint Hills Community Health Center that that started around the first of the year, broke ground on the new building in mid June. CEO Philip Davis, says that progress has been good so far.
Davis said the facilities will no be particularly large, but it will provide medical services that are not readily accessible in the immediate area. The center will also provide school nurse services for the Madison school district.
The center will be located inside Madison High School, with separate entrances for students and the public. The center is set to open mid-September, it will be open five days a week 8 am to 5 pm.
