One person was injured following a crash on Interstate 35 Saturday evening east of the Industrial Road interchange.
According to Emporia Police, just before 8 p.m., a passenger car was merging onto the interstate from the northbound on ramp when it shot over into the back of a semi truck. The female driver of the car was transported from the scene. The extent of her injuries is unknown. The driver of the semi was not injured. Authorities have not released the names of the individuals involved in the crash.
Authorities from the Emporia Police Department, Lyon County Sheriff's Office, Kansas Highway Patrol and Emporia/Lyon County Fire & Rescue responded at the scene. Northbound traffic on I-35 was closed for about 45 minutes while authorities worked the scene.
The Emporia Police Department is in charge of the investigation.

Authorities responded to a reported injury crash just before 8 p.m. on Interstate 35, east of the Industrial Street interchange.
A passenger car collided into the back of a semi truck near the northbound onramp to the interstate. The female driver of the passenger car was transported from the scene by ambulance. It is unclear the extent of her injuries.
The Kansas Highway Patrol, Emporia Police and Lyon County Sheriff along with Emporia/Lyon County Fire & Rescue responded to the scene.
Northbound traffic on I-35 was closed for approximately 45 minutes and rerouted onto 18th Street while crews cleared the scene.
