Enrollment for the 2017-18 school year officially got underway Monday for Emporia Public Schools.
USD 253 community relations director Chuck Samples says extra staff are on hand to help with the process over the next two weeks.
Information was mailed to parents on Saturday containing snap codes that students need to go through the enrollment process. That information was also emailed Monday morning. Samples says the letter contains information about applying for free and reduced lunch and how to qualify which is helpful for a couple of reasons.
Online enrollment will continue through Aug. 2. After that time, enrollment must be done in person at the Mary Herbert Education Center.
