Maynard Early Childhood Center is helping the community prevent childhood learning delays.
The childhood center held their "Count Your Kids In" screening event Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The purpose of the screenings was to assess children's possible learning or developmental delays. The screening process tested multiple areas including hearing, motor skills and vision. The entire process took roughly 45 minutes for a full evaluation.
Early childhood special educator Stacey Johnston explained exactly what they are looking for in these screenings.
Johnston says their goal is to be as thorough as possible after initial screenings to create the best plan for each child.
Maynard offers screenings year round. To schedule an appointment contact Maynard Childhood Center at (620) 341-2260
