Formal charges have been filed against an Emporia man involved in an alleged stabbing over the weekend.
The Lyon County Attorney's office on Monday charged 61-year-old Richard Patton with aggravated battery and possession of methamphetamine.
Emporia Police responded Saturday morning just after 8 a.m. to an incident in the 400 block of West Street. One person was transported via ambulance. The victim's condition and severity of injuries have not been released.
The incident remains under investigation.

An Emporia man has been arrested following a Saturday morning incident in the 400 block of West Street.
Emporia Police responded just after 8 a.m. to a report of a stabbing. Upon investigation, 61-year-old Richard Patton of Emporia was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery, rape and drug charges. Formal charges against Patton are pending review by the Lyon County Attorney's Office.
One person was transported via ambulance. The condition of the victim and severity of injuries has not been released.
The case remains under investigation by the Emporia Police Department.
