Lyon County commissioners have approved a memorandum of understanding about a new phone system.
On Thursday, commissioners approved the MOU for the so-called tri-party agreement involving the city of Emporia and Newman Regional Health. The city approved the agreement during an action meeting Wednesday.
Last year, the city and county bought new servers and split the $180,000 price tag. The MOU says all additional server-related costs will be split evenly by the city, county and hospital. Any hardware upgrades like phones, switches and wiring will be paid for by the agency needing the new equipment.
