A Hartford woman was hurt in a two-vehicle crash on the Kansas Turnpike on Thursday.
The Turnpike Authority says 54-year-old Janelle Rae Turner-Foster was southbound when the crash happened shortly after 9 am. Turner-Foster was trying to pass a vehicle driven by 74-year-old Richard Hugg of Westside, Iowa, but she lost control of her SUV in Butler County about 45 miles southwest of Emporia. The two vehicles collided, with Turner-Foster's vehicle then hitting the center barrier wall twice.
Turner-Foster was taken to Susan B Allen Hospital in El Dorado for observation and possible treatment. Hugg was not hurt.
The Turnpike Authority has not said whether icy conditions were part of the wreck.
