Emporians will have the chance to reflect on the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Monday during a libation and reflection ceremony.
The Emporia Eastside Community Group is hosting "Still Dreaming" to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 730 Sylvan Street in Emporia. Speakers for the event include Willie Finch, Al Slappy and Pastor Chester Morris with the Church of the New Covenant.
Events get underway with youth activities from 5 to 6 p.m., a march from 6:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. and speakers will talk from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Guests from Monday's event will join us on the KVOE Talk of Emporia Monday at 11:06 a.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
