Emporia State University's food pantry is asking for donations to continue serving students.
Corky's Cupboard began in 2014 to assist students who may forgo food in order to pay for rent and classes. The pantry is a free resource for students to access once a month and select up to twelve items including food and essentials.
ESU Student Munashe Magwandeza volunteers for the pantry and says they have successfully served over 600 students since they opened.
Magwandeza says community support plays a large part in keeping the shelves stocked.
Corky's Cupboard is open 12-5 Monday and Thursday. The pantry needs grains like cereals, rice and macaroni and cheese as well as soups and canned foods. It also needs personal hygiene items. For more information on Corky's Cupboard or how to donate visit the ESU website or call 620-341-5481.
