FHTC adding career pathways through curriculum changes

Some changes are coming to a couple of educational programs at Flint Hills Technical College.
 
A new addition to the culinary arts program is a new Hospitality Dietary Management Technical Certificate. The one year certificate combines courses already offered in hospitality and culinary arts with nursing courses such as nutrition and gerontology, growth and development. Vice President of Instructional Services Steve Loewen says it's something that's been a year-in the making to give additional career pathways.
 
 
 
The FHTC Board approved the new certificate during its monthly meeting Monday.
 
Also recently approved were some curriculum changes to business technology. FHTC Dean of Instructional Services Kim Dhority says the changes here came from student feedback in the business administrative technology program.
