Kansas Advances to sweet 16

(espn/ap) Josh Jackson scored 14 of his 23 points in the second half to help Kansas pull away late and reach the Sweet 16 for a second straight year with a 90-70 victory over Michigan State on Sunday.
Frank Mason III added 20 points.
Devonte' Graham added 18 points and Landen Lucas had 10 for the top-seeded Jayhawks, who have advanced to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament in nine of coach Bill Self's 14 seasons.
Coach Self said it took a team effort to win the game.

Kansas will play Purdue Thursday in Kansas City with tip-off set for 8:35.
The other Midwest regional semi-final will have Oregon playing Michigan.
Michigan out scored Louisvile 73-69.
Oregon was a 75-72 winner over Rhode Island.
Wichita State's 2017 NCAA Tournament run came to an end Sunday afternoon in the second round after Landry Shamet's game-tying three-point attempt was blocked allowing Kentucky to escape with a 65-62 win.  Shamet led all scorers with a game-high 20 points. Coach Greg Marshall said they felt like they were the better team going into the game.
The loss ends Wichita State's season at 31-5.
Other finals Sunday:
North Carolina defeated Arkansas 72-65.
Baylor was a 82-78 winner over USC.
South Carolina upset Duke 88-81.
UCLA out scored Cincinnati 79-67.
