The Emporia State mens and womens track and field teams finished in 3rd place at the Wichita State hosted Shocker Prelude Thursday. The Hornets had 3 first place finishes and 2 provisional qualifiers.
Alec Garcia won the mens shotput with a provisional qualifying throw for nationals.
Cole Bosley had the fastest time in the mile run.
The Mens 4 by 800 relay team of Murahad Baheyadeen, Jared Reinke, Luke Stenzel and Thomas LaRoche finished 7 seconds ahead of the 2nd place team.
Latiyera Yeargin ran a provisional time in the 60 meter dash prelims. She finished 2nd in the Finals.
