Emporia High basketball teams split with Topeka West

The Emporia High girls basketball team picked up their 11th win Tuesday night with a 56-25 win over Topeka West.  Topeka West won the boys game 50-45.

The Emporia High girls out scored Topeka West 18-3 in the 3rd quarter to seal the win. Whitney Wilhite led the offense with 19 points, Taylor Birch added 12 points.

The Emporia High boys had a rally come up short. They trailed by 11 points in the 3rd quarter. They were able to cut the deficit to 1 but were unable to take the lead. 

John Williams was the leading scorer for Emporia High scoring a game high 19 points.

The Emporia High girls and boys play their final regular season home games Friday night when they host Topeka Seaman.
