A second half rally came up short for the Emporia State men in a 65-61 loss to Missouri Western Saturday night.
Western would build a 18 point lead thanks to a 19-5 run when the Hornets had a 5 plus minute scoreless streak. In the second half the Hornets used a 32-16 run to cut the deficit to 2 at 59-57 with 1:14 to play. Coach Shaun Vandiver they still need someone to step up and make plays.
Stephaun Limuel led the charge scoring 17 of his 19 points in the 2nd half. Brandon Hall scored a game high 22 points to lead the Hornets. The Emporia State men have now lost 9 in a row and fall to 8-16 for the season and 3-12 in the MIAA. Both the Emporia State women and men play their final regular season home game Tuesday when they host Washburn.
