Olpe picked up the double header sweep over Chase County, in Olpe, Tuesday night, with the boys picking up a 93-63 victory and girls winning 55-42.
The Olpe boys used a 33-10 second quarter to stretch a 4-point first quarter lead to 27 by halftime. Olpe boys' coach Chris Schmidt says his seniors showed up on Senior night and the entire team played very well.
Chance Stout scored 20 of his game-high 26 points in the first half. Levi Cole added 16 and Toby Smith chipped in 15 to help pace the Eagle offense. Troy Higgs led the Chase County offense with 21 points. Olpe improves to 16-3, while Chase County falls to 11-9.
It was a 26-12 third quarter that helped propel the Olpe Lady Eagles, extending a 1-point halftime lead to 15. Olpe girls' coach Jesse Nelson said the final score wasn't a true indication of how close the ballgame really was, but thought his team responded well.
Kayla McDougald led all scorers with 15 points. Kelsey Hendricks was in double figures with 13 and Elena Flott added 12. Sammy Jo Peterson and Cassidy Kelsheimer each scored 11 points to lead Chase County. Olpe improves to 16-3, while Chase County falls to 13-7.
