Cold and wet weather did not keep the Emporia High girls soccer team from playing their match at Highland Park Tuesday. They took advantage of the opportunity and shutout the Scotsmen 10-0.
Stephanie Rangel scored the first goal in the 18th second of play. By halftime Emporia High had a 8-0 lead and end the match early with 2 goals in the second half. Coach Oscar Macias said the good start was a big plus.
Stephanie Rangle scored two goals, so did Tamia Victor and Danya Brewer. Amber Schaefer, Kim Candia, Alessa Torres and Karen Meinholdt each scored a goal for the Lady Spartans.
They are now 2-9 for the season and will play at Shawnee Heights on Friday.
