Emporia High Girls Tennis team 2nd at Centennial League Tournament

The Emporia High girls tennis team finished in 2nd place at the Centennial League girls tennis tournament Monday.

Sophomore Ashley DeBauge had the best finish for the Lady Spartans, she finished in 2nd place in Singles play. She was defeated by Washburn Rurals Madeline Hill, the defending 6A State singles Champion, 8-2 in the Championship match. Seki Anderson finished in 5th place in singles play. In doubles play Emporia Highs Ashten Scheller and Chelsea Herrarte finished in 7th place by defeating Emporia Highs other doubles team of Hayley Spellman and Mazie Kolterman. Washburn Rural repeated as the League champions. Up next for Emporia High, regionals on Saturday.
