Emporia Energy teams still alive in State Tournament play

The Emporia Energy 12 year old and 16 year old teams remain alive in State Tournament play.


The Emporia Energy 12 year old team will need to win 3 straight games to win a state championship Sunday. Saturday the 12 year olds defeated the Abilene Attack 7-0 and the Mud Katz 10-0. They were defeated by the Hays Heat 5-4 in the Championship semi-finals. They will play in the Consolation Final at 10:30 Sunday morning. The Championship game will be played at noon at the Trusler Sports Complex.

The 16 year old Energy team remains alive at the U triple S A State tournament. They began Saturday with a 6-5 loss to the Mud Turtles. They then won 3 straight games, defeating the Kansas Outlaws 6-1, The Rebels 8-0 and Mayhem 5-0. The 16s will next play the Adrenaline at 8am. They will need to win 7 games Sunday to win a State title.

The 14 year old Energy team has been eliminated for State tournament play. They were defeated by the Goodland Slammers 8-6 and Rebels 9-1 Saturday. They finished the tournament with a 1-2 record.
