State Tennis tournaments start a day late

The State High School girls tennis tournaments began a day late. Emporia Highs Ashley Debauge and Seki Anderson are still in the running for a medal.

Ashley DeBauge will be playing in the Championship semifinals after winning her first two matches. Seki Anderson is in the consolation quarterfinals. She won her first round match but was defeated in her second round match. Anderson also won 2 consolation matches Saturday. Emporia Highs doubles team of Ashten Scheller and Chelsea Herrarte were defeated in both of their matches. The 5A State tennis tournament wraps up Sunday in Arkansas City.
