Winning pitcher Kelsey Phillips made the two runs stand up giving up 1 run on 3 hits and had 2 strikeouts and stranded 3 baserunners. They won game 2 4-2. Katy Rae Nordman was 3 for 3 with an RBI.
Danielle Sprinkle hit a solo home run in the 5th. Montana Mesler was the winning pitcher giving up the 2 runs on 5 hits. The Emporia State softball team has now won 5 in a row. Coach April Rosales says this is the team she expected to see most of the season.
The Hornets improve to 20-28 and 10-12 in MIAA play. They are scheduled to play at William Jewell Tuesday. Then close out the regular season next Friday and Saturday hosting Northwest Missouri State and Missouri Western.
